Sassafras Lowrey has been teaching writing workshops for fifteen years. Sassafras’ teaching experience includes designing and teaching community based writing workshops at colleges as a visiting writer, at conferences, and for community groups including Queers for Economic Justice, and at homeless shelters. Ze has also taught writing courses with LitReactor (Leather/Kink/BDSM: Writing for a post Fifty Shades world) , and at the NYC Center For Fiction (LGBT Fiction), as well as creativity and creativity and gender course at Portland State University (Gender Revolution: Explorations in Gender Transgression).
Sassafras is a two-time AWP Writer to Writer Mentor supporting emerging queer writers around craft and career goals and works privately with writing clients around the world. Ze is also experienced Sensitivity Reader around LGBTQ+ related themes.
