There’s so much I’ve wanted to say since I first saw the news on social media about Leelah Alcorn a 17 year old trans girl in Ohio who committed suicide, leaving behind a public letter on her tumblr calling for the community to make serious changes to protect trans people. I had the opportunity to write an op-ed for The Advocate
