It’s 2020! Are you excited? I am! I started the year with one of my favorite traditions – a Polar Swim!

There are so many things coming in 2020 – I have a new little romance book that will be indie releasing early this year (more details coming soon), and my activity book Chew This Journal will be releasing from Mango Publishing in July (now available to pre-order)! 2019 was a huge year for me – I worked on a lot of different projects growing my freelance work and I am so excited with the growth that I have seen with my work and the diversity of stories that I have been able to tell.

2019’s Biggest Writing  Recaps (not in order):

  1. Began writing for BIG dream publications (one of which you don’t know about yet)
  2. Organized two successful events at AWP
  3. Published my first hybrid collection (Healing/Heeling) of short pieces
  4. Published my first dog training book (Tricks In The City)  with a fantastic publisher
  5. Published my first picture book (Bedtime Stories For Rescue Dogs: William To The Rescue) in collaboration with an incredible illustrator
  6. I get to say this again – published 3 books in 2019
  7. Am a finalist for two categories in the Dog Writers Assocaition of America Awards with Tricks In The City
  8. Prioritized my values in the work
  9. Finished all coursework for my MFA program
  10. Grew my Patreon
  11. Signed the contract for a dog training/activity book to release in 2020
  12. Drafted a book during Camp NaNoWrimo that I am having so much fun editing
  13. Started shopping my MFA thesis (novel manuscript) to publishers
  14. Drafted a book during NaNoWrimo and have upcoming meetings with a publisher about it
  15. Wrote a little short story collection – indie releasing in 2020
  16. Wrote more articles for magazines and publications than I can count
  17. Got a feature article in one of my favorite childhood magazines
  18. Figured out  new planning systems that make it easier for me to track my work
  19. Was featured in a interview for PBS Books talking about queer writing and dog writing
